Community Hoops Training (CHT) is a unique small group basketball program that introduces, expands, and refines team level concepts in a competitive setting. We emphasize the topics of effective spatial awareness and pace of play, as well as efficient player and ball movement, in order to better connect our individual skill practice to the team setting. CHT is designed to enhance traditional basketball programs and accommodate multi-sport athletes by providing hour-long workouts after school and in the evenings.

Philosophy

CHT embodies the famous philosophy of the legendary basketball coach, Dean Smith:

Play HARD, Play SMART, and Play TOGETHER”

The effort put forth in any setting directly correlates to the gains we make.  CHT fosters a high energy environment that matches the intensity of high-level live play. From drills to facilitated scrimmaging, playing HARD is the expectation in order to improve and get the most value out of this experience.

CHT is not a one-size-fits all model.   It caters to a wide array of abilities and ages, as we meet athletes where they are. Coaching focuses on developing the knowledge, awareness, and ability to create higher-impact, SMARTer team players.

The basketball Community shares the love of this incredibly dynamic sport. While the focus of the “off-season” typically centers around the skill development of the individual, CHT takes it a crucial step forward to concentrate on connective and collaborative concepts in order to elevate team play. We do this all while promoting the natural instincts and creativity we have within us. This approach allows us to rise TOGETHER.
